Pictures of the puppies! They're three weeks old now! We cannot believe just how big, and round, and chubby, and simply adorable they all are. We just loooove this puppy stage.
All seven of them have their eyes open. They can usually tell where we are now, even though they still have a thin film over their eyes. They come running up to us when we call, and it's amazing to see how much they want to be held and be with people already.
All seven are starting to teeter around on their tiny legs as well. It's the funniest thing to see them try so hard to walk on the slippery hardwood floor, and then fall anyway, despite their best efforts. But they always, always get up again, because there's so much to see that they don't want to be still for a single moment. In the next minute though, they suddenly realize that all this exploring has completely exhausted them, and they plop down wherever they're at and go right to sleep.
The puppies are starting to be more aware of their surroundings too. They can find the toys in their pen and use their newly discovered, itty bitty teeth to chew on all the balls, and ropes, and bones. They wag their tails when we come up, and when they're being scratched. They've started to take an interested in Mama Rosie's food. Of course, they don't get to try out real food for another week or two.
And we named them! Of course the families who will eventually take them home will have their own name for their little puppy. But we want to call each one individually for the short period when they're in our care. We went with a fall theme, because of course that's what you do when you have puppies in the fall! So here are the dear little things. Take a good long look, because with the rate they're growing, they won't look like this for long!
Any chocolate ones available?
